The following fields offer courses in Korean: colleges of business and economics, engineering, human ecology, law, liberal arts, science, sciences in education, social sciences, theology, life science, and biotechnology.
Yonsei University is a dynamic learning environment that holds many events and activities throughout the year. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic situation, the majority of the events may not be available. However, students can join the student clubs to participate in various social activities.
International students might be particularly interested in Yonsei Global, which consists of Yonsei University student volunteers. It aims to provide 30,000 Yonseians with a variety of world views and help them experience diverse cultures. Yonsei Global plans and prepares programs that create opportunities for Yonseians to meet students with overseas experience as well as exchange students every month. The Mentors Club encourages interaction between international and regular Yonsei students on a one-to-one basis called the Buddy Program. International students are matched with Yonsei students in pairs based on their interests, hobbies and goals written on their applications. SOUTH KOREA REGIONAL COORDINATOR
Brian (Kyung Hwan) Min, ISEP’s Seoul-based Regional Coordinator for Asia, provides extra support for ISEP students in Seoul and holds ISEP student meet-up events two to three times a semester. Past examples of events he has held include stamp-making and leather case-making, temple food tasting and a K-pop dancing session. Brian has an academic background in Psychology (BA), Women’s and Gender Studies (BA), and Higher Education and Student Affairs (MA). After studying in the US, Brian returned to Korea in 2015 and served in the Air Force. He has also worked in intercultural education, tourism, online teaching, and entrepreneurship (start-up). Brian is passionate about student success and fostering an inclusive and safe environment.

Course Description
Yonsei University offers students the opportunity to study in both English and Korean. Some program highlights include Korean language learning, Korean history and cultural studies, East Asian studies, business, literature, and the humanities. For those who prefer the sciences, Yonsei also offers a wide variety of classes taught in English in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, math, and physics.

Credits Earned
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 12-18 credits which ISEP recommends is the equivalent of 12-18 U.S. Credit Hours. Each course will be worth approximately 3 credits and meets 3 hours per week.

Other Academic Conditions
Yonsei University offers classes specifically for international study abroad students. These classes include Korean language, Korean and East Asian studies, and general education requirements taught in English. ISEP students may also enroll into courses with local students at Yonsei University. Recommended disciplines include business, humanities, English literature, economics, math, physics, and engineering.
Check Yonsei's course catalog to find courses that have been offered in past semesters:
1. Click to change the page to “ENG” in the top corner. If you let the page translate using a browser extension, there may be some inaccuracies.
2. Click "Course Catalogue and Syllabus". This will open the course catalog.
3. Choose from among the Undergraduate Programs list, and choose the appropriate college for the subject you wish to explore. You must choose a college, but you do not need to choose any other drop downs if you prefer not to. Courses that are listed under "Study Abroad Course” are taught in English and only available to exchange and visiting students, and are recommended for ISEP students to enroll in.
4. Choose the appropriate year and semester. Because catalogs will not complete for the semester you plan to search for, you will need to choose that semester for the previous year. For example, if you plan to study abroad for Fall 2025, select "2nd semester" and "2024" for Fall 2024 classes. Keep in mind classes may change in availability before registration.
5. You can input keywords for courses you’re looking for using the “Search” textbox.
6. Click the magnifying glass to do a search. If no classes generate, there are either no English-taught classes in that subject, or the catalog hasn't been created for that semester. Note that only courses with a "Y" in the "Exchange" column will be available to ISEP students.
7. Check "View only English lectures in the results" to easily see which courses are taught in English.
8. For course descriptions, click the red icon under the “Overview” column. For syllabi, click the purple icon under the “Plan” column.

Students must be enrolled in a business-related major at their home university in order to take courses in the Department of Business Administration. ISEP students may enroll in a maximum of four business courses from the Department of Business Administration. Additional business-related courses are also available in the Department of Economics and in the Study Abroad courses.
Some courses in the Underwood International College are open to ISEP students on a space-available basis. Please reach out to your ISEP Student Services Officer for more information on UIC classes.
Registration for courses in Computer Science is competitive and seat availability is limited. Students are encouraged to be as flexible as possible and prepare alternate course options.
Students looking to take Korean classes can enroll in courses in the Korean Language Institute. The KLI offers both 3-credit Basic Korean classes (IEE1011-1013) and 6-credit Intensive Korean classes (KLI1001-1006, KLI1008-1009). Enrollment in these courses are popular and spots may be limited, so students should plan ahead carefully with their home university academic advisor.
Courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Music, Law, Biomedical Engineering, and the MBA program and Global Leadership Division are not available for ISEP students.
