PROGRAM OVERVIEW
• University College Cork is ranked in the top 2% of universities in the world, and offers excellent course options in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Science, Education, History, Music, Theatre, and Irish Studies. The Cork University Business School is AACSB-accredited.
• The UCC team is available to support students throughout their stay in Cork, and offer a helpful orientation to Irish life, organize excursions to nearby cities, and connect ISEP students to local students through the UCC Peer Student Leader program.
• Cork also has its own international airport, offering direct flights to many of Europe and the U.K.'s most popular destinations, and is just 2.5 hours from Dublin by train.
LIFE ABROAD
ISEP students studying at University College Cork will be part of a vibrant community of over 3,300 international students, and the UCC with the campus located just one mile from the city center. Cork is Ireland’s second largest city and offers lots of opportunities to get connected with locals.
A traditional college town, Cork is known for its great nightlife, restaurants, and music scene. Stroll along the River Lee, pop into the English Market for one of the best food scenes in Ireland, drop into a pub any night of the week for traditional Irish music, explore historic castles and cathedrals, or kayak through the city center. Nearby, you can tour Blarney Castle (and the famous Blarney Stone), the historic port of Kinsale, and miles of coastline. Ready to explore more of Ireland? Just 1.5 hours away by train, County Kerry offers some of Ireland’s best hiking and exploring in Killarney National Park and the Dingle Peninsula.
HOUSING
ISEP students live in up-to-date, furnished apartments arranged through the UCC accommodation office. Each student has a single room furnished with a bed and desk, and typically shares an apartment with 3-5 students, each of whom has a private bedroom. Students share a furnished living area and kitchen, with standard appliances. Students will be offered housing as part of their acceptance process with UCC and are placed into housing through the UCC Accommodation and Community Life Office.
MEALS
Please note that meal options are not included in the ISEP Program Fee. Students should be prepared to bring their own funds for use in University cafes and local grocery stores.
Course Description
Students will be able to choose modules available to incoming students in the Visiting Students Module Guide. Students can enroll in courses in multiple disciplines and will take an average of 4-6 modules per semester, for a maximum of 30 ECTS credits in total (roughly 15 US credits). Most modules are 5 ECTS each, with occasional 10 ECTS modules available as well. Please note that only those modules in the Visiting Book of Modules will be available for visiting students.

Other Academic Conditions
Please note that law, medicine, and dentistry modules are not available to visiting students. All available modules are listed in the Visiting Book of Modules. Some modules may require pre-requisites and are subject to UCC departmental review and approval. Modules that require pre-requisites will be tagged with the message: "Approval needed from Academic School/Department before you can take this module."
PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.
VISA/RESIDENCE PERMIT: Most students attending this program will be required to obtain a visa/residence permit. For more information on the process and estimated cost, please review the ISEP Country Handbook here.
