Universidad Pública de Navarra is located in Pamplona, the historic capital city of the Navarra region in northern Spain. Pamplona is well known for its San Fermin Festival (running of the bulls) which takes place in July each year. The city is also an important stop along the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage route from the middle ages that is still in use today. The campus itself is located near the city center, and students can easily explore by foot all that Pamplona has to offer.

A young university founded in 1987, UPNA prides itself on its socially driven mission and commitment to providing quality higher education. The UPNA has been appointed as an international campus of excellence, reflecting a commitment to innovation and collaboration.

ISEP students immerse themselves in Spanish culture by taking university classes with local students and living in a shared apartment in the community or in a residence hall on campus. The university has an active student body, and ISEP students can participate in sports teams, cultural activities and student groups. Students also have an opportunity to complete an internship, volunteer or participate in a research project while studying at UPNA. The university has a "buddy system" to help connect ISEP students with local students and adjust to life in Pamplona!

Tips for finding courses from the catalog:

1. Click on degree title you are interested in (ex. Economia).

2. A list of courses will appear. The courses are organized by semester and year. “Primer Curso” refers to first-year courses, “Segundo Curso” refers to second-year courses, etc. Some subjects also have a list of “Optativas” or "Optatives" which are elective courses. Courses labeled 1˚S run September – January and courses labeled 2˚S run February – June.

3. The check marks will show the language of instruction for the course. Some courses have multiple sections offered in different languages. Courses may be taught in Spanish, Basque, English or French. Click on the check mark of your desired language of instruction to access a course description.

4. Some departments also offer "English Friendly" courses - these courses have lectures in Spanish but course materials (textbooks, worksheets, etc.) and exams in English.

International undergraduate programs with coursework entirely in English are offered in the fields of business administration, primary education, agronomy, law, telecommunications and informatics engineering. View international programs in English.

Other Academic Conditions

Students should only select courses from the Arrosadia campus. The Tudela campus is 100km from Pamplona and is closed to ISEP students.

Students must register for a minimum of 24 ECTS and a maximum of 30 ECTS. 1 ECTS = 0.5 U.S. credits, so a 6 credit course in Spain is equivalent to a 3 credit course in the U.S. Your home university ultimately determines credit conversion.

Students taking all courses in English need to submit a Language Evaluation showing at least an A1 level. Students planning to take courses in Spanish must submit a Language Evaluation with at least a B1 level.

Housing Notes: Students will receive a combined monthly housing and meal stipend (approx. 570 euros per month). The UPNA Office of International Relations has a list of available accommodations, including shared student apartments and the on-campus residence hall, and will assist students in finding appropriate housing. Students are ultimately responsible for arranging their own housing and paying monthly rent with their housing stipend.

While the residence hall is available to ISEP students, please note that due to its location and the additional services provided, the residence is a more expensive housing option that will not be fully covered by students' ISEP stipend.
