Sustainable Summer Sessions (in English) - ISEP Direct
Next offered in Summer 2022!
This program offers five intensive summer sessions, each exploring a unique approach to sustainability. Students will receive three U.S. academic credits for each 14-day course session. Join international peers, research partners and renowned professors to learn about critical global sustainability issues and gain access to projects and practices employed on EARTH University’s campus, as well as at numerous notable sites throughout Costa Rica!
Founded in 1990, EARTH University’s innovative educational approach prepares its students to contribute to the sustainable development of their countries and construct a prosperous and just society. EARTH University’s campus is located approximately halfway between the capital city of San José and the Caribbean port city of Limón, in the heart of the tropical Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica. The 8,342-acre campus includes classrooms, laboratories, sustainable academic farms, sporting and recreational facilities, chief operational offices, student and faculty residences, a commercial banana plantation, reforested areas and a large, protected rainforest reserve. Since the academic and residential buildings are located around six kilometers (almost four miles) from the main entrance, you will find almost everything you need on campus. Summer Session students will spend some of the program living on the EARTH University campus, but will also spend time traveling around the country for their co-curricular field visits.
