• Discover South Korea beyond Seoul in the lively university city of Daegu, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture through historical sites, traditional markets, and vibrant cultural festivals.
• Choose from courses in highly sought-after fields such as business, economics, finance, international relations, and engineering, while also exploring unique offerings through KMU’s webtoon major, devoted entirely to the uniquely Korean art form, as well as game design courses.
• Get an authentic taste of Korean culture without leaving campus by visiting Hanhakchon, a traditional village located on campus, where many Korean language and culture classes are held.
LIVE and DINE
Immerse yourself in student life and Korean culture by sharing a room with a Korean student at KELI (Keimyung English Language Institute) House, one of several residence halls on campus. Stop by the Administration Building, where you'll find amenities including a central reading room, fitness center, and student store.
You'll receive a lump-sum meal stipend at the beginning of the semester that you can use at one of the four campus cafeterias or at the many restaurants and grocery stores just off campus. No stay in Korea would be complete without sampling the local cuisine, so be sure to sample local favorites like yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), napjak mandu (flat dumplings), and Dongin-dong jjim galbi (braised beef short ribs).
EXPERIENCE
Find your community at Keimyung through the university's buddy program, which pairs incoming exchange students with local student mentors. In addition to connecting one-on-one with your buddy throughout your time abroad, you'll have opportunities to attend welcome and farewell events hosted each semester at the International Lounge on campus. You can also share your culture and learn more about your host culture by participating in the Korean Language and Culture Exchange (KLACE).

Course Description
Keimyung was one of the first Korean universities to initiate a full-scale internationalization program, and 100 international faculty members now teach courses from over 75 majors in English. Keimyung's international college, Keimyung Adams College, offers courses taught in English in both international relations and international business by its international faculty.
To find classes, click the course catalog link and the appropriate semester for your program find the most recent list of courses and descriptions that work for your course needs. Keep in mind the most recent year available may not be the year you plan to study at Keimyung, and courses may be updated before you register for classes.
ISEP students who demonstrate enough language proficiency to engage in Korean can also take Keimyung's Korean-taught classes.
Students interested in studying Korean language can also enroll in Korean Practice 1, 2 or 3 with their other classes.
Academics
Other Academic Conditions
Some courses in the College of Music and Performing Arts are restricted for exchange students. Students can appeal to enroll in restricted courses to the professors of these courses directly, however approval for enrollment cannot be guaranteed.
Students do not need to provide language proficiency, but should be confident that they are proficient enough in English or Korean to study at the undergraduate level.
PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.
VISA/RESIDENCE PERMIT: Most students attending this program will be required to obtain a visa/residence permit. For more information on the process and estimated cost, please review the ISEP Country Handbook here.
