Course Description
All courses at VSU are taught in English and ISEP students may only take courses at the undergraduate level. Especially noteworthy are Valdosta’s programs in business, education, fine arts, speech and pathology, sports medicine, and the sciences. Valdosta's observatory with a 16" reflecting telescope and planetarium with Spitz-A3-P projector enhances a strong astronomy program. American Studies, which is specifically focused on the U.S. South, is well-developed in history and literature. Botany and freshwater biology offerings are supported by an extensive herbarium and field research facilities.
ISEP students are able to take internships or volunteer through the academic training program as long as it is in their designated field of study on their DS-2019. Students are able to volunteer with a variety of agencies and non-profit organizations in the area, as well as participate in monthly Service Saturday events. Undergraduate research is also available through academic training and can secure research opportunities through inquiring with professors in their field. For all options above, make sure to contact your ISEP SSO first to get the academic training process started.
Credits Earned
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 12-15 US credits. Students typically enroll in 4-5 classes per term. A term runs for about 16 weeks. To determine how these credits convert at your home institution, please contact your home university coordinator.
If you use financial assistance, please speak with your home coordinator to understand your academic obligations and the requirements for using financial assistance.
