Study in Finland (in English) - ISEP Exchange
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Åbo Akademi University has four faculties: arts, psychology and theology; education and welfare studies; social sciences, business and economics; and science and engineering. Students have the choice of attending either at the Vasa campus or the Abo campus.
HOUSING
ISEP students will apply for accommodation in local student residences, for a single room in a shared apartment. For Vaasa campus, the Lärkan apartments are recommended, and for Turku campus the Student Village is recommended. Please note that alternative housing choices (single apartment) may come at an additional cost not covered under ISEP benefits.
MEALS
All ISEP students will receive a meal stipend based on the cost of living for students in Turku/Vaasa, which they can use to purchase groceries and cook meals in shared facilities. The stipend will be disbursed into Finnish bank accounts, which students will need to set up upon arrival. Please note that this can take a few weeks, so students should be prepared with funding for meals and start-up costs during that time until the stipend can be disbursed. Students will be expected to budget for their meals accordingly, and can ask their ISEP Student Services Coordinator for tips, as well as check out ISEP's resources for Budgeting for Study Abroad.
Course Description
The university's official language of instruction is Swedish. However, a large number of courses are taught in English (approximately 250 annually), and international exchange students are able to complete a full year of studies in English.
Find information on courses in English. By clicking on “Information for accepted students” in the sidebar to the left you will find other useful information for exchange students, such as housing, activities and a "survival guide."
Students are welcome to take courses in various faculties, but cannot mix courses taught at the two campuses. Please pay attention to the campus where courses are offered when selecting.

Other Academic Conditions
In addition to the courses offered at Åbo Akademi University, it is also possible to take courses at the University of Turku for ISEP students on the Åbo campus (up to 50% of your course load).
