Study in Sweden (in English) - ISEP Exchange
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Mälardalen University is located on the shores of Lake Malaren and is the perfect place to experience Swedish life and explore numerous academics.
HOUSING
ISEP students will apply for accommodation in local student residences in the Junior building with single rooms in a shared apartment. Please note that alternative housing choices may come at an additional cost not covered under ISEP benefits.
MEALS
All ISEP students will receive a meal stipend based on the cost of living for students in the area which they can use to purchase groceries and cook meals in shared facilities.
Course Description
ISEP students may take courses in all departments. Courses range from basic to specialized levels and are taken together with Swedish students. There are a variety of available courses taught in English. International students with a documented and good knowledge of Swedish, in addition to the appropriate prerequisites, can choose from the entire range of courses offered by Mälardalen University.
Credits Earned
Students who complete the program in good standing can expect to earn 30 ECTS per semester. Students typically enroll in only 4 classes per semester (7.5 credits per class). A semester is broken into two study periods periods lasting for a total of 20 weeks. To determine how these credits convert at your home institution, please contact your home university coordinator.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
• Please note that the academic calendar at Mälardalen is divided into two semesters (Fall and Spring) with two ‘Teaching Periods’ per semester.
• The Fall schedule contains courses listed in Autumn Period 1 and Autumn Period 2 and runs from Late August through Late December
o Arrival & Orientation: Last week of August
o Courses Dates: First week of September through the 3rd week of January
• The Spring schedule contains courses listed in Spring Period 1 and Spring Period 2 and runs from Early January through Late May
o Arrival & Orientation: Mid-January
o Courses Dates: Third week of January through the first week of June
• Exams take place during the final days of each teaching period
PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.
