Explore life in the fast-paced commercial hub of China at one of the top 100 universities in Asia. Situated at the mouth of Yangtze River, Shanghai is the most influential economic, financial and cultural center in East China. Shanghai represents the most modern edge of today’s China, where you can simultaneously feel the pulse of ancient tradition and the modern drive for progress.

The city’s complex past has shaped it into a meeting point of East and West. The Direct program at Shanghai University is your gateway into understanding the language, culture, economy and business of China, one of the most powerful countries on the global stage.

Important note: The accommodation for the whole semester is to be paid by the students to the University of Shanghai directly. It is not included in the ISEP program fee but is a required part of the program. 70 RMB per night for a double room and 140 RMB for a single room. 1800 RMB housing deposit will need to be paid by the student on arrival.

Students will need to complete application that asks whether they want a double room or single room. It is highly recommended that students apply for a double room. A double room is guaranteed as it is reserved in advance, but a single room is very competitive and not reserved in advance. Students who apply for a single room, will no longer have a double room reserved for them. If they do not get approved for the single room option, students will also no longer have a double room reserved for them and will need to find housing on their own.
