Study in Colombia (in English, Spanish) - ISEP Exchange
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Universidad Icesi has forged a reputation as one of the finest universities in the region, and is the top-ranked university in Colombia. Icesi's Business School is AACSB-accredited, and many of the university's engineering degrees hold ABET-accreditation.
Universidad Icesi is located in Cali, a bustling city in the Valle del Cauca region. Known as the world’s salsa capital, music flows into the streets and people everywhere can be found dancing along to the rhythms as they go about their daily routines. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the historic Centro sipping a refreshing tinto (coffee) and observing the beautiful architecture of the La Merced and La Ermita churches, among other colonial-era buildings. The Universidad Icesi campus is located in the safe and prosperous Barrio Pance in the south of Cali, a residential neighborhood home to restaurants, shopping centers, and several other university campuses.
ISEP students immerse themselves in Colombian culture and daily life by taking university classes with local students and living in the community. The university has an active student body, and ISEP students can participate in sports teams, cultural activities and student groups. Universidad Icesi has a "buddy system" to connect ISEP students with local students and adjust to life in Cali!
HOUSING AND MEALS
The International Office at Universidad Icesi works closely with a student residence located within a 5-minute walk to campus. Housing in the residence is in shared apartments of 4 or 8 students, depending on space and preference. Each apartment has a shared kitchen and common area. Student are assigned a private bedroom, with a bathroom for every 2 students. Laundry service is provided in the building, and the residence also features study areas, an onsite gym, and a pool. Students receive a monthly stipend from Universidad Icesi to cover the cost of meals.
Alternatively, students may choose to live in a homestay. This offers students the opportunity to stay with a local family, creating a warm, supportive environment in which to improve their Spanish language skills. Students in homestays enjoy a private room and bathroom, with a personal study space. All services are included, such as internet and laundry. Homestays are typically located within 15 minutes of the university.
