Study in the U.S.A. - Southeast (in English) - ISEP Exchange
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
ISEP students immerse themselves in American culture and daily life by taking university classes with local students and living in a residence hall on campus. The university has an active student body, and ISEP students can participate in sports teams, cultural activities, and student groups. All incoming exchange students will be matched with a local "buddy" to help them adjust to life at LRU and in the United States. While studying at LRU, students will have many opportunities to explore the city and surrounding areas. Each semester, the International Office organizes three free field trips to cities such as Charlotte, Boone, and Asheville and students will have the chance to attend hockey matches, NFL games, go skiing, and more.
Experience a week in the life of an exchange student at LR through the lens of one of our most recent ISEP students!
HOUSING
Live in a fully furnished room in a campus residence hall with a shared common area alongside a friendly and diverse student community. Enjoy accommodation amenities including free laundry facilities, computer labs, lounging areas, and a kitchen. International students are automatically placed into the Global Village Residential Learning Community. The Global Village promotes meaningful interaction between students, across cultural differences, in a brave and hospitable living space in which residents approach their fellow community members with curiosity, patience, and hospitality. The community houses exchange students, other international degree-seeking students, U.S. students who are study abroad returnees, and other U.S. students who want to build relationships with culturally diverse people.
MEALS
Lenoir-Rhyne students enjoy an unlimited meal plan that can be used in the dining hall. Students can also use Bear Bucks (cash placed on their meal cards) to purchase food at the other dining locations on campus, such as Joe's Coffee, Chick-fil-A, and the Sandwich Shack. More information about dining services can be found here.
THRIVE
Lenoir-Rhyne supports a student community with international students from over 30 countries. Academic services are available to help you acclimate to a new learning environment, including one-on-one academic peer advising and academic support services such as tutoring, a writing center, a speech lab, and more. Resources are available for mental well-being and disability accommodations.
