Course Description
Nanzan's CJS program offers intensive Japanese language courses, plus English and Japanese-taught electives. Students will take a proficiency test once they arrive to establish their Japanese language ability for both Japanese language courses, and Japanese-taught subject courses.
Intensive Japanese courses are taught in the mornings four days per week, while elective classes are taught in the afternoons on one or two days per week.
For a breakdown of the classes offered, please see the CJS website.
Credits Earned
Students are required to register for an Intensive Japanese course for 8 Nanzan credits per term, and can register for additional elective courses at 2-3 Nanzan credits per course.
ISEP recommends that the US equivalent for a 2-credit lecture class is 2 US credits, and a 2 credit language class is worth 2 US credits. So 14-16 Nanzan credits is the equivalent of 14-16 US credits.
If you use financial aid, please speak with a qualified financial aid advisor to understand your academic obligations and the requirements for using financial aid.
