This expedition will take you through the urban, rural and wilderness locations of New Zealand in order to better understand the physical and human geography that shapes New Zealand's traditions of creative expression.

You'll study some of New Zealand's best examples of creative work, and produce your own original work in your preferred media and genres, all working alongside Massey's faculty. You'll meet practitioners, attend screenings, rehearsals and performances throughout your program.

Special Application Instructions

Massey Application

In addition to completing the ISEP application, students must also submit a separate Massey University application. Missing or unverified documentation will result in delays in student placement; ISEP, therefore, recommends that applicants enclose the following documentation with their ISEP application, wherever possible.

Massey is unable to issue your unconditional offer, or formalize your Massey placement, without the documents listed above. Incomplete applications can therefore incur processing delays.

Massey University cannot recognize unverified copies of birth certificates, passports and academic transcripts. These documents must be officially verified by the applicant’s home university, study abroad coordinator or a notary public. Therefore when submitting original copies of passports and transcripts it is recommended that students make a second copy for Massey and get the above-mentioned authorities to verify each of these copies individually. Verified copies must either:

a) include a handwritten statement: "I ........, certify that this is a true copy of the original" (signed & dated by verifier), or

b) be stamped: "Verified by _____" (signed amd dated by verifier)

Other Academic Conditions

This program requires a minimum number of participants in order to run.

The selection process for the Massey National Expedition and Internship program is competitive. Students who meet the minimum requirements will be selected for review. Placement is not guaranteed. Special consideration will be given to students who submit their application early.

  • Completion of one year of successful university-level study
  • Actively pursuing a degree in a related major
