LIFE ABROAD

Hessen International Summer University is a month-long summer program with intensive German language courses and academic seminars in the fields of History, Politics, Society, and Culture.

Excursions & Cultural Experiences

Take part in three exciting excursions designed to complement your coursework! Explore historic Weimar, Kassel, and Wiesbaden on guided day trips. Immerse yourself in local history, marvel at stunning architecture, and enjoy free time to discover each city’s unique charm.

Housing

Single-room housing is included in the program fee. Accomodations have shared bathroom and kitchen access. Both local German students and international student are housed at this location. Accessible housing options are also available.

Meals

A full meal plan is not included in the program fee, however snacks and occasional meals are included in the program. Students will use their own funds to cover remaining meal costs but will have access to cooking facilities, grocery stores, street food, and restaurants. We recommend students plan to have 300-400 euros to pay for food while abroad, depending on their lifestyle.

Explore Marburg

Marburg is truly a university town with the academic buildings spread throughout. But that's not the only thing to see! Marburg is filled with rich culture and museums are scattered throughout the city. Spend and afternoon paddling down the Lahn River or go out and try a Hessen style beer with lemonade and fruit! With your student card, transportation by bus is free.
