Hessen International Summer University is a four-week summer program with intensive German language courses and academic seminars in the fields of History, Politics, Society, and Culture. 

The compulsory program elements include:

  • Language courses — courses are 45 contact hours/3 ECTS each (maximum 9 ECTS total) and are taught in small groups, offered at various levels
  • Two academic seminars
  • A supplement course on German culture and politics
  • Three-day field trip to Strasbourg
  • One-day weekend trip — more field trips will be offered, and students are welcome to participate in all trips at no extra cost
