PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Experience Breda, a walkable, bike-friendly urban oasis in the heart of the Netherlands, interwoven with canals and green spaces and easily connected by train to major hubs like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht.

• Gain a unique perspective on digital game design through BUas' Creative Media and Game Technologies program, ranked as the world’s #1 government-funded games degree program

• Shape your own academic experience through Breda’s project-based, collaborative learning model, which BUas refers to as “reversing the classroom.”

LIVE and DINE

Make yourself at home in a shared apartment, located just a 5- to 10-minute walk or bike ride from campus. Enjoy the privacy of having your own room in a fully furnished unit shared with 3–5 other students, complete with a shared kitchen. You’ll receive a monthly meal stipend that can be used at any of the canteens on campus, the nearby Albert Heijn supermarket, or one of several specialty shops near your accommodations, including a bakery, fishmonger, and Asian grocery store. Breda’s international food scene makes it easy to satisfy just about any craving. Still, be sure to try classic Dutch dishes like stroopwafels and Brabantse worstenbroodjes (sausage bread rolls) while you’re here.

EXPERIENCE

Participate in optional social and cultural events hosted by BUas’ Erasmus Student Network (ESN), ranging from laid-back group dinners and board game gatherings to nights out on the town. ESN also offers a buddy program that pairs you with a local student who can serve as a mentor during your time abroad. Enroll in the optional Dutch Culture and Society course, offered exclusively to exchange students, to learn more about the Netherlands while living and studying there. Get involved in one of Breda’s many student clubs, catering to interests such as arts and crafts, baking, airplane modeling, esports, and more.
