PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Make Seoul your classroom from the lively Dongdaemun area, where K-culture, traditional palaces, mouthwatering street food, cutting-edge fashion, and a vibrant nightlife scene converge.

• Take English- or Korean-taught courses in fields like engineering, Korean studies, Korean or English language and literature, and business. Tack on a “practical” Korean language course at your level at no additional cost – a benefit exclusive to ISEP Exchange students!

• Find your rhythm on an accessible urban campus with strong student support – including priority accommodations for students with disabilities – and an on-site ISEP Regional Coordinator who helps students stay connected to events happening around the city!

LIVE and DINE

Enjoy the convenience of living on campus in the International House student dormitory – only a 5-minute walk from the campus center – which has its own laundry, gym, convenience store, and shared kitchen with multiple microwaves, toasters, and kettles. You’ll stay in a single room in a shared unit of 2, 3, or 5 rooms, and share a bathroom and living room with the students in your unit; accessible rooms are available for students with disabilities.

Eat affordably at the student center dining hall, pick up snacks from campus cafés or convenience stores, or explore the area around campus to try Seoul’s famous street foods or authentic Korean BBQ.

EXPERIENCE

Discover campus with a Seoul Global Ambassador (SGA) – a student selected by the university to help international students get familiar with their new surroundings and adapt to life as a student in Seoul. You can also match with a local student through the SeoulMate buddy program to participate in welcome ceremonies, monthly exchange events, and local outings, planned and organized by your buddies and Peer Advocate student volunteers.

Become a member of the campus community by joining sports, academic, performance, and cultural clubs. Step off campus and use Seoul’s fast, affordable subway system to explore Seoul between classes, or plan weekend trips to places like Busan, Daegu, Jeju Island, and nearby popular destinations Like Japan!

VOLUNTEER

Apply to be a language tutor at the Global Lounge, a space where students can practice speaking in foreign languages including English, Spanish, and Japanese. Help other students learn your native language by engaging in discussions, playing board games together, and more.

What We Love About the University of Seoul

Although it’s a highly urban campus, we love that the University of Seoul is full of green areas, making study spaces like the dining halls and library feel welcoming. Having a nearby metro station also makes it easy to get out, explore Seoul, and make the most of living in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

Other Academic Conditions

The School of Business Administration has limited seats every semester. The School of Architecture and School of Electrical and Computer Engineering have their own screening processes.

UOS strongly recommends that exchange students apply to their field of study. The School of Business Administration, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, School of Architecture, and Department of English Language and Literature in particular can only accept students who major in that field. The School of Business Administration may limit the number of courses for each student to take up to 3 courses, depending on available courses.

Students do not need to provide language proficiency, but should be confident that they are proficient enough in English or Korean to study at the undergraduate level.

PASSPORT: All students must have a valid passport to participate in this program. If you do not have a valid passport, we suggest you start the application process as soon as possible.

VISA/RESIDENCE PERMIT: Most students attending this program will be required to obtain a visa/residence permit. For more information on the process and estimated cost, please review the ISEP Country Handbook here.
