Università Cattolica excels in the diverse study opportunities that it offers in the humanities and sciences, and the university values and promotes an interdisciplinary approach. Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is ranked as the 12th best university in Italy, and among the top 500 globally, by QS World University Rankings.
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore’s Certificate Programs are multi-course academic programs in specialized areas that allow students to take a set of courses related to a specific topic and earn a certificate upon successful completion of the program. The Certificate Programs consist of a minimum of 4 courses, and grant 24 to 30 ECTS per semester in upper-level coursework.
Certificate programs are designed to help students gain new skills and knowledge that can be used to further their career goals and supplement their resume. Credits earned can also be applied towards a specialized 1-year Master's Program at UCSC in a related field. The Certificate Programs augment or supplement student's degree with a focus in a specialized area that might not be readily available at their home institution or within their current major.
HOUSING AND MEALS
ISEP Students in Milan will be assigned accommodation by UCSC's housing partner, Milano International Living Service (MIL Service).
Most students choose to live in a shared student apartment. MIL Service apartments offer double rooms in fully furnished apartments, 24/7 high speed internet connection (WI-FI), iron and board, washing machine and a full kitchen with kitchenware.
ISEP Students also have the option through MIL Service to be accommodated on the international student floor of the Buonarroti Residence Hall. The Buonarroti dorm offers single rooms with private bathroom, wireless internet connections, utilities (water and electricity), a cleaning service, basic cable television, plus extra amenities such as a shared kitchen furnished with kitchenware.
Commuting to work and school is part of daily life for residents of Milan, Italy's second-largest city. MIL Service housing is located in residential areas throughout the city, and while distances vary students should expect a minimum of a 20-30 minute daily commute, with the location of many apartments requiring a 40 minute commute to campus. Students use Milan's robust public transportation system to navigate the city, and all student housing is strategically located near metro, tram and bus stops. Information about how to reach campus and the best way to commute is provided to students during pre-departure and as part of the onsite orientation once in Milan.
ISEP Certificate Program students do not receive meal benefits and will be expected to use their own funds for meals. Students will be expected to budget for their meals accordingly, and can ask their ISEP Student Services Coordinator for tips, as well as check out ISEP's resources for Budgeting for Study Abroad.
